Terms of Service

Effective: April 29, 2026 · Last updated: April 29, 2026

By creating an account or using TaskTroll, you agree to these Terms. Please read them.

1. Who we are and what TaskTroll is

TaskTroll is operated by John Shoufler (Net87) ("TaskTroll", "we", "us"). TaskTroll is a software service that helps families coordinate chores, allowances, schedules, communication, calendars, and other day-to-day household tasks across web and mobile apps. Contact: tasktroll.com/support.

2. Eligibility and accounts

3. What the service does

Features available depend on your plan. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

4. Subscriptions, free trial, and billing

5. Entrepreneur add-on (referrals and payouts)

If you opt into the Entrepreneur add-on, TaskTroll generates a referral code for your family. Subscribers who sign up using your code earn you commission payouts paid via Stripe Connect.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

7. Health and medicine information

TaskTroll's medicine list, illness log, temperature log, and similar features are personal reminder utilities. They are not medical devices and are not intended for diagnosis, treatment, or clinical decision-making. Always consult a licensed healthcare provider for medical advice. You're responsible for the accuracy of any health information you enter.

8. Location and find-phone

9. Connected calendars (Google Calendar)

If you connect a Google Calendar account, you grant TaskTroll read-only access to your calendars on that account so we can render a merged family calendar inside the app. You choose which calendars are shared with your family in Calendar Settings; calendars not toggled on are not shown to anyone. You can disconnect at any time from Calendar Settings or from your Google Account permissions page; disconnecting deletes our stored refresh token and cached events. TaskTroll's use of Google API data is governed by our Privacy Policy and adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

10. Your content; family data ownership

You retain ownership of the content you put in TaskTroll (chores you create, messages you send, photos you upload, notes you write, etc.). You grant TaskTroll a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, transmit, and display that content solely to operate the service for you and the family members you've invited. We don't sell your content and we don't use it to train external AI models. See the Privacy Policy for full data-handling details.

11. Children and parental responsibility

Parents are responsible for any child profiles they create, for the children's use of the app, and for compliance with applicable children's privacy laws. TaskTroll does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 outside the parent-controlled family context. Parents can delete a child profile at any time. By creating a child profile, you confirm you have authority to do so.

12. Third-party services

TaskTroll integrates with third-party providers (Stripe, Apple, Google, Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple/Google Sign-in, OpenStreetMap, OpenAI, DigitalOcean). Your use of those services through TaskTroll is also subject to their terms. We're not responsible for outages, content, or policies of third parties.

13. Termination

14. Disclaimers

TaskTroll is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaskTroll disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific feature will always be available.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaskTroll's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid TaskTroll in the 12 months before the claim. TaskTroll is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold TaskTroll harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of (a) your use of the service in violation of these Terms or applicable law, (b) content you upload, or (c) your violation of someone else's rights.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Pope County, Arkansas, and you and TaskTroll consent to personal jurisdiction there. Either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property rights.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you in-app or by email and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after notice means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't accept them, stop using the service and you may cancel your subscription.
